A Special Day for Catonsville
The parade began in 1947, and ever since has represented a special day for Catonsville as a town. The excitement and anticipation that the town views its Independence Day bash is not shared by the other suburbs around Baltimore city, making this celebration a unique one. Finding the best spot to view the parade is still up for debate, and is in constant dispute. But if you spend your 4th with us at State Fare, we’ll make sure that you don’t miss out on all the fun when you pick your spot on Frederick Road. Feast your eyes on all the classic Cadillacs that roll by, think of it as a combination of Thanksgiving and Christmas. That’s how much of a big deal it is.
Chairs for the Parade
Chairs of all kinds have been set up as a way to save seats for the parade. Whether it was in 2002, 2006, 2009, or 2011, or 2019, you’ll probably see a gaggle of lawn chairs set up with no one sitting in them. But they are a key part of parade day preparations. Themed decorations, ropes, and even water balloons have all marked the seats for the parade over the years. Be sure to get yours early and make sure no one can poach it from you!
