Visit us at State Fare this Tuesday, February 25th, for the ultimate Mardi Gras celebration! The State Fare menu will be serving the best New Orleans cuisine to celebrate the day, while the funk-rock blues band Soul Island Rebels performs a selection of “cajun funk rock” that will help you party into the wee hours of the night. If you’re looking for the best way to “Laissez les bons temps rouler,” make your dinner reservations today for Mardi Gras at State Fare.
The best place to celebrate Mardi Gras, or “Fat Tuesday,” in America is in the Southern city of New Orleans. In that city, and throughout the world, “Carnival” season begins in January with the Feast of the Epiphany and goes up to Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, which begins the Catholic season of Lent. Mardi Gras is all about reveling in excess before you traditionally abstain from rich foods and outlandish behavior in Lent. If you haven’t been celebrating for a month already with parades and bead throws, you can stop by State Fare on Tuesday to feast on delicious Cajun food and dance to blood-pumping funk-rock.
The Soul Island Rebels are a Baltimore-based blues, funk, and roots band with an eclectic mix of instruments and a blend of original and classic tunes. Formed in 2010, the group consists of David Pratt on harmonica, Josh Anderson on electric violin, Myles Thornton on bass, Bo Coleman on percussion, Steve Hammond on drums, and Jason Anderson on guitar and vocals. Each member brings a distinct sound to the group, which blends into a rollicking good time!
State Fare’s Mardi Gras celebration and show will last roughly from 4 pm to 10 pm. Make sure to make your dinner reservations today to ensure your chance to sample our unique dinner menu, enjoy our extensive bar menu, and get the best seat to the Soul Island Rebels show. We’ll see you there!
