How to Enjoy State Fare’s Dog-Friendly Patio

Bring your fluffy friend to State Fare to enjoy our dog-friendly patio!

The State Fare patio is open for dining, whether you are stopping by for a drink and dessert, or spending a lazy weekend afternoon dining on our brunch menu. While dining outside can be nice in itself, what makes it even nicer is spending your afternoon or evening out under the sky with your favorite canine friend by your side. Yes, State Fare’s patio is dog-friendly! But how can you make sure that you and those around you can enjoy our dog-friendly patio? Read on to find out what to consider before dining with your pooch.

Consider Your Dog’s Preferences, and Adjust Accordingly

You already know that you enjoy State Fare’s patio, but not every dog wants to be outside for long, or around many strangers, no matter how much we would like them to. If your dog would become stressed when dining around many strangers, consider just stopping by with your pooch for a take-home meal or selecting a crowler of beer or cocktails to take home with you. That way, your dog gets a nice walk and gets just enough socialization with strangers.

Additionally, please consider your dog’s table manners. If your pooch is frequently trying to steal food from tabletops, or barks at strangers, consider waiting to dine with them at our patio until you feel more confident in their behavior.

Make Your Dog Comfortable

When you visit our dog-friendly patio, make sure you have brought some dog necessities to make your furry friend more comfortable. Particularly now in the “dog days” of summer, you don’t want your pup to feel overheated. Bringing an old towel for your dog to lay on, instead of pavement, can help as well as bringing a portable water bowl for your pooch. If you are worried about your dog’s ability to withstand the heat for a while, consider visiting for just a drink or dessert, so you and your dog can get home sooner.

Be Considerate of Others

We can only maintain our dog-friendly patio if we have courteous and conscientious guests. We kindly request that any dog owners keep their dog’s leashes tucked away neatly, to eliminate tripping hazards for other guests and our waitstaff. Additionally, refrain from letting your dog wander over to other tables, or sit on chairs or tables. As hard as it may be to believe, not everyone is a dog person, and they may not appreciate a visit from Fluffy. If everyone can be courteous of each other’s space and preferences, State Fare can remain a pleasant neighborhood dining experience for everyone, both human and canine.
