Oyster lovers, rejoice! This month sees Catonsville’s first annual oyster festival hosted by State Fare. This rain or shine event will showcase Maryland and regional premier Oyster selections for oyster experts and newbies alike. Samples of oysters will be available for a low price, along with live music, contests, craft beer, and more all in the heart of downtown Catonsville. The one-day festival will take place on Saturday, March 21st, and you can buy your tickets now!

What You Can Do At the Oyster Jam

The Oyster Jam will feature eight varieties of oysters for guests to sample, for just $2 each! Fans of State Fare will love the craft beer options available, in addition to the Smirnoff crush bar perfect for those who want to move from brunch right into the day-long festival. There will be contests held and party-ready live music from Soul Island Rebels. The event will be held at State Fare on Frederick Road in Catonsville from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Fun Facts About Oysters

Oysters come with a surprising amount of benefits not just to you but to the environment. For instance, oysters contain more zinc than any other food. Zinc can help protect your immune system, get rid of acne, ease rashes, and make your bones stronger! And when oysters are in the water, they can filter about 30 to 50 gallons of water each day.

Additionally, America holds the distinction of pioneering the combo of oysters and beer. This trend began in the 19th-century taverns of New York and eventually traveled through bars down into New Orleans. At Oyster Jam, we celebrate that classic combination of oysters and cold, tasty beer.

Buy Your Tickets Today

Tickets to the Oyster Jam are available to purchase right now through Eventbrite. General admission tickets are $10 and include six oyster tasting tickets and access to the live entertainment. VIP Tickets are $25 and include early access to the event starting at 1:30 pm, two premium drink tickets, ten oyster tasting tickets, and access to the live entertainment.

You can refund your tickets up to seven days before the event, on March 14th. After that, the tickets will be nonrefundable. We can’t wait to see you at Oyster Jam!
